Table Maintenance

Take responsibility for simple table maintenance. Report any major faults to your operator, such as dead cushions, worn cloth, damaged accessories etc.

Use a racking cloth and spot marking stickers to help protect your cloth from damage in areas of heavy ball contact.

Regular routine (every few days) should include:
  • Brushing cloth and checking for any damage.
  • Checking that all equipment and accessories are in good working order.
  • Quality chalk is available.
  • Cushions give a good ball response.
  • Table is level.
Your operator should iron and remark your table on a regular basis.

Brushing is essential and easy:
  • Ideally, brush you table everyday for approx 3 minutes.
  • Always brush from 'D' end to 'Spot' end, in short, sharp straight strokes, following the nap direction, lifting the brush to remove chalk dust, dirt and finger marks and to re-align the 'nap' in the correct direction.
  • Ideally use a hand help vac to collect the recently brushed debris. Otherwise, carefully run your brush across the bottom of the table under the cushion to brush the debris into the corner pockets.
  • Do not brush too heavily or use a brush with very stiff bristles.
Daily brushing aligns the nap to:
  1. Improve Cloth Speed
  2. Maintain Cloth Performance
  3. Extend Cloth Life
  4. Improve Cloth Appearance
  5. Increase Playing Pleasure!
Please Note: If you do not brush regularly, the nap will start to bunch together (i.e. a pilling effect), ruining it permanently and causing the balls to dramatically slow down which seriously reduces your table's performance, not to mention its looks. A poor performing pool cloth will lessen your customer's pleasure when visiting your establishment - having a detrimental effect on your business.
